New!  During the spring of 2001, reconstruction of the Kent Dam commenced, for the purpose of improving the aquatic habitat by eliminating the dam pool behind the Kent Dam.  The sluice gates, which remained from the old canal, were opened - thereby draining the dam pool and allowing the Cuyahoga to bypass the dam/waterfall.  Efforts are now underway to reconstruct the environment in and around the dam to create a more natural landscape without actually removing the dam wall.
