Pedal To Make A Difference
Bike and Hike Event,
The 3rd Saturday in May
Fredfuller Park, Kent, Ohio The Pedal To Make A Difference Bike-a-Thon is sponsored by the Pedal-with-Pete Foundation, a philanthropic organization dedicated to raising money for cerebral palsy research. The Bike&Hike-a-Thon begins and ends at Fred Fuller Park in Kent, Ohio. The bike route follows the paved Hike and Bike Trail for several miles, continues through lovely neighborhoods in Silver Lake and the historic town of Hudson in Summit County. Light refreshments and water will be available at the rest area on the long route and also at the start/finish line. Fred Fuller Park is located at 497 Middlebury Road off Route 59 on the west side of Kent. Start/Finish area will be at the Roy H. Smith Shelter.

This festival offers something for the entire family, including museum tours, all day music and entertainment, a classic car show, the Annual Jaycees Ducks Over the Falls River Race, arts and crafts, food, Pony Rides and more. The Heritage Festival opens at 8:00 AM with a 5K and 10K Road Race and concludes with a fireworks display. The event is organized by KUSO (Kent's United Services Organization, Inc.), a consortium of nine of Kent's leading service and business organizations. TRAIN RIDES ALL DAY!!!

Art in the Park September 6, 2008, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Fred Fuller Park, Kent Ohio
The thirteenth annual Art in the Park celebration will be held September 9th and 10th in Fred Fuller Park, Kent's oldest and most scenic park. This unique event offers opportunities for enrichment and exploration of the arts. More than 50 artists and artisans will showcase and sell their work in a variety of media. Demonstrations in glassblowing. A variety of "hands-on" art experiences will be offered to children at no cost. Guest musicians provide fine music. As educational as it is fun, this two day celebration of the arts offers something for everyone.

Black Squirrel Festival

Yes, those Squirrels are Black!
They were brought from Canada by Larry Woodell in early 1961. Mr Woodell released about a dozen pairs on campus, while serving as Superintendent of Maintenance for Kent State University. These unique tree climbers are honored every September at a PUBLIC EVENT. | |

Haunted Trail in Fredfuller Park
2 day event, End of October, Fri & Sat
Kent's Tail of Terror — Come witness Fred Fuller Park Friday and Saturday as it has been transformed into a trail of terror. You will be guided through the park and along the river on the most horrifying trip of your life. Recommended for ages 12 yrs and up. Fee: $4.00 per person
Kent's Cartoon Hayride
One day event, End of October
Kent's Cartoon Hayride for all those who want to enjoy Halloween without being spooked. We will be offering hayrides through Fred Fuller Park and along the way you will meet up with many friendly characters, Charlie Brown, Sponge Bob, Pikachu, and many more!! Each child will receive Halloween Treats throughout their trip through the park. Recommended for children under 12 yrs of age. Fee: $2.00/child; $1.00/adult

Festival Of Lights
December 6, 2008, Downtown Kent, Ohio
The 12th annual Festival of Lights
event begins at 5:30 p.m. with musical entertainment
by the Kent Roosevelt Ace’s Choir. Santa will arrive
at 6:00 p.m. to light up the town and visit with
all the girls and boys.
We encourage families to bring cameras for a
photo with Santa. For those unable to visit with
Santa, a letter writing station will be available. Free
hot chocolate and doughnuts will be provided.
The Kent Chamber of Commerce and the
downtown merchants are again providing horse
drawn carriage rides. Many local merchants are extending
their business hours.
