The amount of talent cultivated in the city is a valuable part of the Kent music scene. Events like Kent’s Blues Festival and Folk Alley Round Town are shinning examples of the City, promoters, local musicians and local businesses working together to help showcase the community. Both events have proven to bring revenue to local restaurants and other businesses. The Round Town night has become the perfect complement to the Kent State Folk Festival. The festival, now in its 45th season, will be taking place September 21–25, 2011 — five days of quality live music! Kent is creating a vibrant cultural hub for Northeast Ohio, supporting the local music scene, from young, upcoming bands to old favorites who have been performing here for years. On any given night, there’s venues in Kent that are playing live music. New music library of area musicians is being created.
