Patchworks at the Patton House

This year’s Kent Area Quilt Show takes place July 31 & August 1, with proceeds benefitting our food pantry. The event will again take place at the Patton House, 529 W. Main St., Kent. This historic home is the perfect location and its Victorian furnishings blend beautifully with the quilts, both antique & new.
The Patton House was gifted by Emma H. Patton in 1939 to the Kent Coterie, to be used as a meeting placefor that organization and for various literary clubs of the city. Miss Patton was the daughter of W. W. Patton, superintendent of schools in Kent. She was a life-long resident of Kent, though she did her share of globe trotting.
An addition to the show this year is a concert to take place on Sunday afternoon on the front lawn of the Patton House. The picturesque yard and and the large front porch on this Victorian home will take you back in time to an era reminiscent of earlier days. Featured artists are Tina Bergman, hammered dulcimer, and Bryan Thomas, bass. Donations of non-perishable items and/or money will be taken during intermission. So, bring your lawn chairs and prepare to enjoy the music.
