Quaint and Quirky Kent, Ohio

lorence May Myrtill Bushnell, daughter of Carrie (Link) and Lester A. Bushnell of Kent, was wed in 1910 to a fella named
Jim Tully…a union to which a son and daughter were born.
Thomas Alton was born in Kent in 1911 and in 1912 the family moved to California, where Jim worked as a tree surgeon – a trade he learned working for Davey Tree.
Daughter Trilby was born in 1918 (same year Tully began publishing poetry in local newspapers).

lla Southwick, daughter of Harriet Kent Clapp and Charles, was traveling in Europe with her husband and family when her mother unexpectedly passed away while visiting her son Charles K. in Kent. This painting of Ella was commissioned in 1869 by renowned American artist George Agustus Baker Jr. A granddaughter of her uncle Marvin was named Ella Southwick Kent, in her honor.
