Make your downtown memories last a lifetime.
Meet the World Famous Budweiser Clydesdales.
They will arrive in downtown between 4:30 and 5:00 PM
in front of Home Savings Bank on
North Water St.
Arrive early to get a parking space and a good vantage point. |
The world famous
Budweiser Clydesdales,
the symbol of quality and tradition for Anheuser-Busch since 1933, are scheduled to make an appearance in downtown Kent on the evening of Wednesday, July 8th.
The Clydesdales’ appearance in Kent is one of 300 made annually by the five traveling hitches. Canadians of Scottish descent brought the first Clydesdales to America in the mid-1800’s. Today, the giant draft horses are used primarily for breeding and show.Horses chosen for the Budweiser Clydesdale Hitch must be at least three years of age, stand approximately 18 hands – or six feet – at the shoulder, weight an average of 2000 pounds, must be bay in color, have four white stockings, and a blaze of white on the face and black mane and tail. A gentle temperament is very important, as hitch horses often meet millions of people each year. Two tractor trailers carry the Clydesdales and a third brings along everything else – the historic beer wagon, harnesses, and other gear.
Parade 5:30 to 6:30 PM
The Budweiser Clydesdales
Rain Date: Thursday, July 9th
A limited amount of Clydesdale merchandise will be available for sale in front of Home Savings Bank at 142 North Water St. |
